I'm not really one for resolutions, but I do like challenging myself in my creative endeavors. So my ADHD-riddled brain has decided on a few more projects to try out this year...
My Dreaded Backlog. Even as a lifelong gamer, I'm constantly discovering new (to me) games! My backlog has grown so much over the last few years, particularly after I shifted to streaming retro games. My collection has also grown pretty quickly and I haven't had the time to play everything I've picked up. So I've decided to host a monthly event on stream called Backlog Blitz where I'll pick a console and play a few untouched games from my collection. In 2025, I learned that it's okay to not finish games. But it is important to me that I at least give them a chance!
YouTube Videos. This will likely be my most challenging endeavor. I almost never watch YouTube videos myself, so creating more curated content specifically for the platform seems a bit daunting to me. But if there's one thing I love, it's sharing my love of video games. And as my collection continues to grow, I thought it would be fun to start with some videos of my collection. So I'll be sharing my shopping hauls, console highlights, and top five lists here.
Writing Introspectively. In 2025, I created a Bluesky thread to share each game I had completed. It was really fun, but social media doesn't have the space to really dig deep and discuss anything in detail. And thus, I am here blogging for the first time in 15-ish years. Games are one of my favorite storytelling mediums. I've found myself reflecting on these stories often and I thought it would be nice to share those thoughts with others.
I tend to bite off more than I can chew, but I think these would be very fun projects that all tie into my favorite (and most time consuming) hobby. If I can accomplish each of these on a monthly basis, I'll consider it a big win!
